Cue Haven

The Forest Bridge Trust staff visited CUE Haven in May and met with Tom and Mahrukh Stazyk the inspirational couple who had a vision to establish a native reserve for local people overlooking the stunning Kaipara Harbour.

Naming their ambitious restoration project Cue Haven (CUE for Cultivating Understanding and Enlightenment) Tom and Mahrukh have spent the past 20 years restoring pastureland into native bush, with the help of volunteers planting over 170,000 native trees.

With an extensive network of well-formed tracks culminating at the peak with an incredible view over Gibbs Farm and out to the Kaipara Harbour, the Forest Bridge Trust team were delighted to see first-hand the difference predator control has made to the regeneration of the native flora and fauna.

Establishing Cue Haven as a trust in 2017 this amazing property is maintained by volunteers and welcomes schools, groups, and individuals who are invited to use the space for gatherings, picnics or simply just to take a walk enjoying time in nature and green spaces, as well as forest bathing amongst the New Zealand natives.

Volunteers are always welcome, to assist with planting, track maintenance and predator control on the property.
