Art Competition for Bird of the Year 2023
The Forest Bridge Trust is running an Art competition to celebrate The Forest & Birds, Bird of the Year / Century 2023
With The Forest Bridge Trust championing Matuku-hūrepo / The Australasian Bittern in the 2023 campaign we are looking for the best drawing/painting/sculpture / objet d’art of the mysterious and critically endangered bird, the bittern.
matuku-hūrepo are found in wetland areas of Rodney & Kaipara. They are well camouflaged, but they do have a distinctive boom. Here are a few links that might prove useful when researching the Bittern.
